Men often don’t talk about it. But they want it.
What is it? To look younger.
Interestingly, it’s often the significant others in mens’ lives who tell their mates about cosmetic surgery and what it can do. That seems to open the door in men’s thinking, and they come in for consultations with their wives or significant others.
At Milford MD, we find most men opt for fillers as a quick, simple way to correct facial aging. They don’t have downtime and can get right back to work, working out and being social. We call what fillers do: “power lifting for men.”
Today’s fillers represent the magic wand men want. With fillers, we can improve and correct wrinkles and sagging of the forehead and frown lines. We can address the temple area, where crows’ feet creep in. We use fillers to treat under-eye dark circles, deep laugh lines, and that angry look (forehead lines). Men really appreciate the sculpting we can do with fillers. It’s easy to address lack of definition around the jawline and cheekbones. We can even elevate drooping mouth corners or reduce the appearance of scarring using today’s fillers.
It’s important to use a slightly different approach with men when injecting fillers. Their skin is usually thicker than women’s skin. Still, it’s a relief for men to learn that filler injections are easy to tolerate–even comfortable. In most cases, I place fillers with very fine blunt-tipped cannulas, using almost no needles at all.
We use a variety of fillers, depending on the area being treated. The most popular fillers among women today are the same we use for men, including: Radiesse, Juvéderm, Perlane, Restylane, Belotero Balance, Prevelle Silk, Sculptra and natural autologous fat.
For men who are more concerned about age spots, skin tightening, sun damage and surface wrinkling, there are new and more forgiving laser treatments. Today’s lasers don’t result in much downtime (maybe a day or two) and they not only help tighten skin but also erase surface wrinkles, as well as sun damage and brown spots.
Yet another option for men on the go: A refresher with one of the neuromodulators, such as Botox. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reported last year that men in high-powered, high stress jobs on Wall Street are turning to injectable procedures in order to look refreshed and less stressed.
Putting the gift of noninvasive cosmetic surgery in your man’s spring plans this year is simple. We offer gift certificates and be sure to keep an eye on the Milford MD specials page, where you’ll find great opportunities for men to start the New Year looking refreshed and ready.
Many people don’t know that studies have found that cosmetic surgery not only help men look younger, but also feel better and more positive. Yes, researchers have shown that helping men look younger can positively affect a man’s overall outlook and mood.
