“March is a month during which people of all ages think about starting the shed the bulky clothes and scarfs that hide all their perceived imperfections. Thermage skin tightening is achieved noninvasively, using radio frequency technology. Dr. Marina Buckley uses Thermage’s Thermacool non-surgical facelift technology. Thermacool has been shown in studies to gently tighten and lift skin, helping to erase facial wrinkles and lines, while encouraging healthy collagen formation. The Thermacool system’s Thermatip delivers a controlled amount of radiofrequency energy uniformly, to gently heat collagen in the skin’s deeper layers. ThermiTight, a micro-invasive radiofrequency technology used to tighten loose and wrinkly skin, is ideal for the neck area, where visible aging often first occurs, according to Dr. Richard Buckley. “ThermiTight treatment gently lifts, tightens and rejuvenates skin,” he says. “It works differently than Thermage, in that we deliver ThermiTight’s energy using a tiny electrode inserted under the skin. The electrode targets the tissue, which in this case is the neck area, resulting in immediate, as well as ongoing tightening.”
Venus Freeze technology is yet another option in neck and body skin tightening. The technology not only tightens skin, but also diminishes wrinkles and contours for a shapelier skin surface. “Venus Freeze incorporates multi-polar radio frequency and magnetic pulsed fields in one device,” Dr. Marina Buckley says. “It, too, causes a thermal, or heat, reaction in the tissue. The body responds with its natural healing process, which includes forming new collagen and elastin.
