Q. What is DermaTyte™ 1319?
A. DermaTyte™ 1319 is a laser skin tightening procedure, developed by Richard Buckley, MD at MilfordMD, which uses an FDA cleared laser to treat skin without the need for anesthesia. This non-ablative, non-invasive procedure uses infrared laser technology to deliver laser energy through the skin to deeply heat the dermal collagen and to preferentially target water and collagen within the dermis. This results in shrinkage of dermal tissues including skin, oil glands, skin pores, and dermal blood vessels. Existing dermal collagen is contracted. Formation of new dermal collagen is stimulated.
Q. What areas can be treated?
A. The DermaTyte 1319 treatment is safe for all skin colors and all ethnicities. It can be performed on any area of the body where skin rejuvenation is desired. You should consult with Dr. Buckley to determine which DermaTyte™ 1319 treatment options are best for you. Our most popular DermaTyte™ 1319 treatment areas include the face, neck, décolleté (chest), and back of the hands.
Q. What results are possible?
A. The DermaTyte™ 1319 procedure results may vary from patient to patient. Results depend on numerous factors including genetics, age, gender, and extent of underlying skin damage. The DermaTyte™ 1319 procedure is useful for skin rescue, as well as an anti-aging measure to promote skin rejuvenation. DermaTyte™ 1319 is ideal for patients desiring a noninvasive approach with no downtime to achieve noticeable improvements in fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity, skin vessels, acne, and acne scars. A series of treatments is usually required to achieve optimal results such as one treatment per decade of life. Treatment intervals for DermaTyte™ 1319 are every 3 to 4 weeks at a minimum to allow for internal healing of the skin to occur. It may take up to six months to achieve final results.
Q. What aftercare do I need?
A. Following DermaTyte™ 1319 you may experience mild redness in the treatment area, but this should return to normal within minutes. There is no downtime. The DermaTyte™ 1319 procedure is quite comfortable and does not require anesthesia. Patients can leave the clinic and return to their normal activity immediately. No special medications are required after DermaTyte™ 1319. However, you should always protect your skin from direct sun exposure and use a sunscreen with appropriate UVA and UVB protection.
