Laser Liposuction for Excess Fat & Bulges
At our AAAHC accredited surgical facility in Milford, Pennsylvania, you can lose as much as one gallon of fat with each liposculpture session, a procedure that removes and sculpts fat while you are awake. Dr. Richard Buckley, renowned cosmetic surgeon highly regarded in our Tri-State area that includes Sparta, New Jersey; Warwick, New York; and Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, specializes in safe, effective and affordable laser liposuction and bodysculpting procedures. Unlike traditional liposuction, laser lipo is performed under local tumescent anesthesia, which makes the procedure much safer, comfortable and affordable, and requiring less downtime.
How Does the Laser Liposuction Procedure Work?
Laser liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure using only local anesthesia (tumescent) and very small cannulas (tubes) gently inserted under the skin. The cannula is moved back and forth as it suctions out unwanted fat cells. This can be combined with a laser in order to tighten the skin. Micro liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure and is performed entirely under local anesthesia. Because general anesthesia is unnecessary, the procedure is very safe. All procedures at Milford MD Cosmetic Dermatology Surgery & Laser Center are performed in our on-site office based procedure rooms.
Who is a Good Candidate for Laser Liposuction?
If you have areas of fat that will not respond to diet and exercise, then you’re a candidate for liposuction and Laserlypolysis. Ideal candidates are in good health, of normal body weight and have realistic expectations for the results. “Patients who come to me for tummy tucks or facelifts are often surprised when…” (As seen in RedBook, GoodHousekeeping and Woman’s Day: October 2011)
What Areas of the Body Can be Treated with Laser Liposuction?
Laser liposuction can be used to treat a wide range of areas including: face, chin, neck, breasts, chest, back, abdomen, love handles, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees and more.
Can Laser Liposuction Give Me the 6-pack Abs I’ve Been Working So Hard to Achieve?
Yes, for those of you who exercise regularly but just can’t seem to see the results you are looking for, laser liposuction can remove the layer of the excess fat under the skin that prevents those muscles from being seen.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
One treatment is recommended. Multiple areas can be treated in a session. If many areas are being treated, it may be advisable to split the treatments up over more than one day. The treatment session(s) may last from two to four hours depending on how many areas are treated.
What Do I Have to Do After the Treatment?
Depending on the body area being treated, patients are required to wear Liposuction Compression Garments to insure optimum results. This compression garment must be worn 24 hours a day, except when showering, for usually 2 weeks and then 12 hours a day for the next 2 weeks. Rest is recommended after the procedure and activity may be resumed gradually. Refrain from hot tubs or strenuous exercise for 2 weeks.
Does Laser Liposuction Treat Cellulite?
The procedure may improve the body’s shape and may improve cellulite to a certain degree, especially if combined with laserlipolysis such as our ProLipo or Smartlipo™ treatments.
When Can I Expect to See Results?
Results can be seen as soon as a week with continued improvement over 6 – 12 months.
Will it Result in a PERMANENT Decrease in the Number of Fat Cells in Area Treated?
Yes! Adults do not create new fat cells. When a person gains weight, the fat cells expand. The Liposculpture procedure permanently removes the fat cells. Should you gain weight, most fat will be deposited in areas where the procedure was not performed.
