Ambulatory phlebectomy is procedure to remove superficial veins on the legs and other places on the body. The ambulatory phlebectomy procedure is performed at MilfordMD’s cosmetic surgery and laser center. It takes very little time and requires only a local numbing agent.
Varicose veins are not only unsightly, but they can be very painful. Through the minimally invasive ambulatory phlebectomy procedure, immediate relief of the pain can be achieved.
To begin an ambulatory phlebectomy procedure, the skin overlying the undesirable bulging leg veins is marked. The treatment area is cleaned using sterilizing surgical scrub and subsequently numbed with local anesthesia. A very small incision is made over the upper and lower end of the vessel that was marked and it is identified, loosened, tied off and removed. Compression stockings should worn for at least a week after an ambulatory phlebectomy procedure.
