Milford, PA – October 12, 2017
Two new technologies at MilfordMD Cosmetic Dermatology Surgery & Laser Center help take the guess work out of which facial rejuvenation products and procedures will benefit individual patients most, as well as how patients may look after fat reduction procedures and more. The Milford, Penn., cosmetic practice has added the Vectra XT 3D imaging and all new 7th Generation Visia Complexion Analysis System, both by Canfield Scientific, a global leader in medical imaging systems.

MilfordMD Cosmetic Dermatology Surgery & Laser Center has added Vectra XT 3D imaging and Visia complexion analysis systems that shows how facial and body procedures may look before cosmetic procedures. |
“Before 3D imaging in cosmetic surgery, patients had to visualize what changes they wanted to make might look like in their minds. Now, the transforming possibilities of specific facial rejuvenation procedures, body sculpting techniques and breast enlargement come to life on a screen,” says cosmetic surgeon Dr. Richard Buckley, medical director at MilfordMD Cosmetic Dermatology Surgery & Laser Center. “The images are on their bodies and faces, so they see, for example, how their skin might look after fractional laser resurfacing, or how their bodies might look after fat reduction with CoolSculpting.”
MilfordMD patients can elect to use the Vectra system during their consultations to better understand the area of cosmetic concern and how different treatment options will change it. “We use the imaging to communicate possibilities from single cosmetic procedures, or combination approaches. For example, we can take the image of the patient’s breasts before and simulate what it would look like if that patient had fat injections to increase cup size. Or we can show a patient how a combination of fat reduction with CoolSculpting and skin tightening with ThermiTight could change the look of a patient’s abdomen,” Dr. Buckley says. “We also use it to educate patients. The system’s gray mode reveals contours in a patient’s face, which show the patient what might be making them look older, or more tired. Then, we visually show them how a corrective procedure, such as a filler or Botox, would change the entire face.”
The practice’s new Visia Complexion Analysis System redefines skin care for patients who use topical products, only, as well as those undergoing facial rejuvenation procedures. The imaging device captures information to determine a patient’s skin type classification and detects facial features which contribute to aging and other cosmetic concerns, as well as analyzes true skin age. The system then creates a plan for the patient, based on the patient’s cosmetic goals, and an image of what that patient’s skin may look like, based on the customized regimen.
“This is an amazing technology that uses cross-polarized and UV lighting to record and measure skin conditions on the surface and below the skin’s surface,” Dr. Buckley says. “The images vividly reveal sun damage, pore and pigment issues, as well as spider veins and more that patients might not even see in detail.”
MilfordMD patients who elect to use the Complexion Analysis System receive recommendations on specific skin care products and treatments, and a personalized report on those recommendations. “Today’s cosmetic patients feel more in control, thanks to these imaging systems,” Dr. Buckley says.
