Kate Winslet’s Baby Bump a Mommy-makeover in the making?
Actress Kate Winslet looked stunning with an obvious baby bump when she attended the premiere of her new film “Labor Day” at the Toronto Film Festival.
But, as many moms know, the beauty of the baby bump fades after birth. Often even the fittest moms are left with physical signs of pregnancy they no longer want, including a stretched-out belly. Hollywood moms are especially in tune with what post-baby bulge can do to their careers. So, many turns to diets aimed at slimming their bodies and exercises focused on toning.
Sometimes, though, dieting and exercise just aren’t enough. That’s when women come to us for the ultimate in mommy makeovers–one or a combination of three procedures that address what pregnancy left behind.
Give your breasts a boost. Especially after nursing, breasts often lose some of their fullness and might not be as high or perky as before pregnancy. Breast augmentation with breast implants can restore breast fullness and height. Some women, however, might prefer a breast lift only, or even a reduction, after pregnancy.
Fat pockets be gone! The body prepares for pregnancy, in part, with added fat stores. The problem is that those pesky pockets of fat around the upper and lower abdomen, love handles, hips, outer thighs, inner thighs and inner knees are tough to shed. Liposuction targets those areas, removing the fat permanently.
Tuck in that tummy. Pregnancy leaves some women with excess skin and a Jell-O appearance. Tummy tucks are surgical procedures that trim the unwanted skin and flatten the abdomen.
Today’s mommy makeovers can be done, in many cases, in an outpatient center (not in the hospital), while patients are comfortably and safely awake. Some mommies go back to daily activities within days after breast augmentation or liposuction. Tummy tuck procedures might require a little more time to recover.
