Reduce the Appearance of Neck Cords with ThermiRase
Neck cords are strands of tissue that start at the base of the neck and run up on the left and right sides to meet around your jaw, causing frown lines to become more prominent. ThermiRase is a revolutionary procedure that targets and relaxes the nerves responsible for neck cords to ultimately reduce their appearance. Because ThermiRase is a micro-invasive procedure with long-lasting results, it is preferred over Botox neck treatments and surgical neck lifts. Schedule your consultation today to learn whether you are a good candidate for a ThermiRase neck cords treatment
Before your ThermiRase treatment, an external nerve stimulator is used to map out the nerves that cause unwanted muscle movements that create the neck cords. Local anesthesia may be applied to the treatment area to ensure patient comfort throughout the procedure. A very small probe is then inserted under the skin, using low-energy stimulation to confirm the nerve location.
Once the nerve location is confirmed, radio frequency energy is delivered to inactivate the nerves (nerve ablation) that cause the involuntary muscle movements that create the neck cords. The results are immediate and, in most cases, last longer than one year.
After a ThermiRase treatment, you may resume normal activities. Some patients may experience minor swelling and bruising in the treatment area that should dissipate within a few days.

ThermiRase Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How Does ThermiRase Compare to Botox?
Neck cords are caused by the involuntary movement of muscles controlled by motor nerves. Botox and other neurotoxins temporarily inhibit the signal transmission from these motor nerves to the muscles. These chemical neuromodulators usually work for 3-4 months before another treatment is necessary. ThermiRase is a micro-injectable procedure that uses radiofrequency to ablate the nerve. The results are immediate and last much longer (up to 18 months), avoiding the injection of a toxin.
How Many ThermiRase Treatments Will I Need?
Generally, only one ThermiRase treatment is needed to relax the neck bands and reduce their appearance.
How Soon Will I See Results After a ThermiRase Treatment?
Results are noticed immediately after one treatment. Many patients have also seen a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the neck cords.
How Long Will ThermiRase Results Last?
Although results vary from patient to patient, some have seen results last over a year and a half. Many patients can expect results to last between twelve to eighteen months.
