How Does ThermiTight Work?
As with other radio frequency technologies, energy is delivered through a very tiny electrode inserted under the skin. The very tiny, needle-like, electrode provides radio frequency energy directly to the target tissues causing immediate shrinkage. Since the skin is very sensitive to heat, the electrode simultaneously measures the real-time temperature at its tip. Only enough RF energy is delivered to heat the tissue to a safe temperature. This allows for optimal heating of the deep tissues, targeting dermal collagen fibers, without causing any damage to the overlying skin. For added safety, an external video camera is used to measure the actual surface temperature of the skin. Temperatures to the deep tissue can be reached that were never possible before with older technology and the treatment is comfortable, safe and very effective.
Is ThermiTight a Laser?
ThermiTight is not a laser. Laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the skin and underlying structures such as veins. RF energy stimulates the production of collagen, which supports the skin, from within. ThermiTight can be used to tighten the skin of the face, neck, back, chest, arms and legs.
What Makes ThermiTight Safe?
The ThermiRF device has an internal thermistor that monitors internal skin temperature and maintains it at a safe level. This varies depending upon the area being treated. In addition to monitoring the internal temperature, an infrared thermal camera is used to monitor the external temperature of the skin. This allows for effective treatment of the skin and also serves as a safety mechanism. If the skin temperature starts to rise above the desired levels, the machine automatically shuts off. This makes ThermiTight a very safe and effective treatment.
